I was a forty-eight year old stock broker when my twelve year old daughter,
Chelsea, introduced me to a new sound. What she played sent me
back to another era. As Chelsea had never heard of the sixties, I never heard
of the Rodnees; but when I did, I didnt look back. I didnt know
they made music like this anymore! Songs like Groovy People, Groovy
Places and On My Block put me in a frame of mind when dropping
out was a good thing.
And thats exactly what I did. I quit my boring day gig and started
to dedicate my life to learning about the Rodnees and their world. I now spend
my days un-earthing details about my favourite band, un-covering their secrets
and behind-the-scenes stories, as told to me by people who knew them, helped
them or saw them live during their short lifespan (February 1999 to June 2000).
Besides hoping that the band might someday re-unite, this is the best we can
wish for. Ladies and gentlemen, as best as Im able, heres the
real deal behind the Rodnees!
Modly yours, Wm. D. Kappelmeyer
